Work With Us

Plumtree offers the opportunity to work in a committed, supportive, and connected team where each member is valued for the unique contribution they make. We employ therapists (speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists), teachers and family workers, as well as a small administrative team.

Our awesome team members are the heart of our organisation as they work directly with children and their families. Their professional, caring and respectful approach strengthens our reputation in the community as a truly important community resource.
We provide our team with a range of support systems including access to training and supervision. We operate on evidence-based approaches which includes family-centred practice, the Keyworker Model, strengths and play-based intervention, plus our team is transdisciplinary.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We welcome applications from people who speak a language in addition to English and from people who are Aboriginal or of Torres Strait Islander background.

Student Placements

We have strong relationships with the universities in our region through our research and innovations, and we regularly offer placements to students under the supervision of our professional team.

Work experience placements for students from local secondary schools are sometimes available, where there is a particular interest in the work that we do. Get in touch if you’d like to organise a placement at Plumtree.

 Volunteer with Us

Plumtree is a busy organisation and our wonderful volunteers assist us in a variety of ways. Some attend weekly while others come whenever their own busy lives allow. Whatever your capacity, we would love to hear from you!

Volunteers are offered an induction and support from a member of the team. If you have a particular interest or skill and would like to talk about volunteering, let us know.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older. You will need a verifiable Working With Children Registration number (issued through the RTA). You will also be subject to a National Police Certificate Clearance.

Over the past year, volunteers have played an important role assisting staff in the Preschool and in Playgroups. Volunteers have used their personal and professional skills to help us improve our office and IT systems, to communicate our message more effectively and to make resources for our staff to use with children and families.
