Let’s talk about… Creating a good life for our children

Parents of a child with disability or delay can feel overwhelmed with managing therapy schedules and anxious about achieving outcomes. Parent peer worker Nicole Buffoni was in this situation—and her family was surviving, not thriving, as a result.

It doesn’t have to be this way. At the International Initiative for Disability Leadership Conference in Ireland and Sweden, she met some incredible family leaders and people with disability who were further on in their journey. Their stories and triumphs were life-changing for Nicole and her family.

In this workshop, Nicole will share her insights on guiding children to live a good life now, and into their future. Topics will include strong family leadership, and how trailblazing people with disability and peers can inspire our children to create their own beautiful lives and become valued members of society.

• How to go from a surviving to thriving mindset
• How to fit therapy hours into a busy life
• What it means to have a good life and working towards it when your children are little

This session is for

Parents, family members and primary carers of children with disability, developmental delay or neurodivergence aged 0-12 years old. Priority will be given to families of children with disability or developmental delays.

We value diversity and welcome all families.

At this stage, we don’t have the capacity to accommodate professionals in this session. If you are a professional, please feel free to share any of our calendar information with the families you are working with.
