Information regarding NDIA changes
There are some important changes and good news from the NDIA that we want to share with you.
NDIS plans remain intact during COVID-19
You don’t have to worry about your NDIS plan ending during the disruption being caused by COVID-19.
- If your child’s NDIS Review meeting is due, check with your Early Childhood Early Intervention Partner (ECEI) or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to ask for the meeting to go ahead by phone or online.
- If your plan is due to end soon and you have not been contacted, it will be automatically extended for 365 days.
- If you have a plan review scheduled, you will be called on the phone. You can ask to have your plan extended for up to 24 months if you do not want any changes.
The NDIS website has full details of the changes at their COVID-19 information and support page.
Need some extra help to manage your NDIS supports?
You can now use your funding to purchase Support Coordination even if it isn’t already in your child’s plan. Please talk to your key worker if you want to find out more about this or visit the NDIS website.
No change to our cancellation policy
Until the 30 June 2020, the NDIA allowed service providers to charge a fee if an appointment was not cancelled 10 business days prior to the scheduled date. Service Providers have since been advised to reduce the time back to their pre-COVID-19 policy.
Plumtree has always had a 24-hour cancellation policy, before and during the pandemic.
We understand that planning ahead may be difficult in these challenging times. We don’t charge a cancellation fee if you contact us 24 hours before an appointment. You and your staff member can also be ready ahead for cancellations by talking about what they can do instead. Refer to our flyer ‘What happens if my child is sick’ for more information.
Please get in touch as soon as possible if it looks like you cannot attend a session.
The additional 10% hourly services charge recommended by the NDIA for Service Providers during the COVID-19 lockdown is no longer in place.
Plumtree did not charge this amount as your package was not increased by 10%.
We understand that you may have questions about these changes and how they relate to you. We are here to answer your questions. Please speak with your key worker or get in touch.
Plumtree is here to continue to support you and your child.
