Nature Time • School holiday group

November 14, 2023 @ 3:30 pm December 12, 2023 @ 5:00 pm

Everything your child needs to develop their skills is readily available in the bush.

Join us for a 5-week after-school nature group on Bidjigal country at Girawheen Reserve, Earlwood.

This group aims to promote independence, social connection, and exploration in the great outdoors.

Nature Time is all about connecting with nature, having fun outdoors, and learning through play alongside others.  Karen and Cathy, Occupational Therapists, will support the development of these skills.

Learning outcomes will be personalised and could include:

  • Fostering your child’s independence as they discover how to engage with the environment and develop essential self-help skills.
  • Fostering connections among peers as they engage in group activities and outdoor adventures – allowing for shared experience and opportunities for new friendships.
  • Learning and exploring through adventure, guided by the weather and the ever-changing natural surroundings.

Activities might include:

  • Preparing afternoon tea with peers
  • Building with natural materials
  • Slowing down to investigate & enjoy small wonders
  • Climbing rocks
  • Nature art & craft

Participants will have an opportunity to suggest and review activities they’d like to explore together throughout the duration of the group.
