Being the parent of a young child with a disability, developmental delay or neurodiverse diagnosis can create long days and busy schedules. Add the juggle of work, siblings, family life and an ever-full laundry basket, and you are no doubt at capacity. You know what you need to do for your child and are doing your best, but with such a busy life, it sometimes feels like you are living day to day rather than focusing on the future.
What if we told you that you can take control with Now & Next – a globally recognised, award-winning program that helps parents and carers develop skills to achieve positive outcomes for their child, family and self. Over eight weekly sessions, participants choose outcomes and work towards them with new clarity and purpose. Now & Next is family–centred, based on strengths and takes account of how adults like to learn.
Don’t have time for an 8-week program?
Well, now you can participate in Now & Next from the comfort of your own home! The Now & Next team are excited to announce that after 12 months of development and trials the program is now available in an online format. You can join online on a weekday evening for 2-hour sessions over 8 weeks using Zoom, a free, easy to use conferencing program. The online format follows the same guiding principles as the face-to-face group but removes the time and effort needed to attend sessions outside your home. So tuck your little ones in bed, make a cup of tea and we will look forward to welcoming you online to support your family in setting a positive vision for your future!
