NickNick Walter

Nick has worked in Australian investment markets since 1998 and is currently with Macquarie Bank. In his role, he works with not-for-profit organisations, assisting them with corporate governance, policy development and investment management. Nick has business and accounting qualifications. He joined the Board in 2011 and has been the Chair since 2012.

 

 

 Melinda Stevenson

Melinda is a senior Accounting professional with a strong blend of accounting, process and system improvement expertise and is currently working with Loci Solutions as Senior Property Solutions Consultant. She has held various finance roles in ASX listed companies and she was a Senior Financial Accountant with Stockland and has experience in the property sector, financial services industry, telecommunications sector and in the freight forwarding industry. Melinda has an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM). She is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), CPA Program Examination Marker and a Fellow member of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA). Melinda commenced volunteering at Pathways ECI through Stockland, via United Way in 2008. Later that year, she was nominated as Treasurer of the Board.

Rimma DinkinRimma

Rimma has been involved with Plumtree since 2003, after she became involved with Plumtree for her son Joshua. She joined the Board in 2006 and was ‘thrilled to have the chance to give something back to an organisation that gave our family so much’. She has been on the Board since then, in the position of Secretary in 2006, Chairperson from 2007-2011 and is currently the Vice Chair. Rimma has an IT background and currently works in a community based organisation.


Andrew Mackenzie

Andrew is the CEO of AltusQ Australia, an international firm with over 40 professional business coaches working across many industry sectors. Andrew’s business career has an entrepreneurial and business development focus in both product and services industries. Andrew is highly regarded as a thought leader in the area of professional coaching education, having co founded the development of the first International Master of Business Coaching. He is also the Chairman of the not for profit Darlinghurst Theatre Company and a board member of Academic Search International.

Adrian

Adrian Ciaschetti 

Adrian is the co-founder of Sparrow Flights. He drives the vision, design and technical strategy for the company, and is dedicated to building the world’s leading customer experience for flights on mobile. Adrian is both a User Experience Designer and Full-stack Developer. He has worked with many large organisations and start-ups on user experience projects, has sold more than 3000 copies of his digital creations online, and studied computer science at UTS.

JennyJennifer Brock
Jennifer has been a Board Member of Plumtree since 2001. Jennifer’s specific duty as a board member has involved visiting community groups in order to raise the profile of Plumtree. She has visited GPs, paediatricians, Early Childhood Clinics and a variety of local community organisations. During these visits, she has been an ambassador for Plumtree, in addition to being a strong advocate for early childhood intervention, particularly for increases to early childhood intervention services in the Sutherland area.

YvonneYvonne Nicholls

Yvonne is mother of three children, her eldest has Atypical Austism and began receiving services at Plumtree at the age of 18 months. In 2005, she joined the Board to give something back to the people that became her ‘second family’. ‘When we look back at the years behind us, my husband and I do not know how we would have managed without the help and guidance of all our friends at Plumtree. And when we look towards the future, we do so knowing we have learned so many skills along the way, that will help us to help Luc be the best that he can be.’ In Yvonne’s blog, ‘Take my hand…’ , she shares the highs and lows of being a parent of a child with additional needs. Yvonne is also a Sales Manager in Online Media.

Sylvana Sylvana Mahmic

Sylvana’s interest in disability began 22 years ago, when her first child Abdul-Karim was diagnosed with a disability. Seeking to understand what lay ahead for her son, she completed post graduate study in special education and has been the CEO of Plumtree since 2000. She has developed several initiatives which target the wider community, in particular the culturally and linguistically diverse community. She is currently a doctoral candidate researching individualised support and self-directed funding. Sylvana is an advocate for people with disability and their families and has served on over 15 reference and advisory groups in addition to five Ministerial appointments. She is currently the Vice President of Early Childhood Intervention Australia NSW Chapter and immediate past President. In 2013, she was appointed to the National Disability Insurance Scheme Independent Advisory Group. Since 2009 Sylvana, her son and the extended family have been learning about how to use a self-managed package using individualised funding and she uses these experiences to shine a light on the potential of this approach for people with disability and their families.
